Johnnie D`s Pizza & His Co. in Pinetop-Lakeside

Waited over an hour for pasta that shouldnt have taken more than 20 minutes to cook. Not enough sauce on the pasta. Heard the two microwaves beeping while they were preparing the food. They charge 4% more if you pay with a card. No alcohol to drink while you wait. Sorry excuse for a restaurant.

We were pleased to be able to try out Johnnie D's for pizza, wings, and fried goodies. While the pizza is better than your average pizza place, it is not quite on par with the best. The flavors are light and tasty, but the crust is a bit thick and chewy to be true "brick oven pizza". The fried zuccini and calamari were both good with generous portions, but left a bit to be desired in flavor and texture. The staff was attentive and understanding with a spill of water by our children. I'd recommend Johnnie D's if you're looking for reasonably priced pizza that's a step up from the usual.

Don't believe Google. This place does not have a wood fired oven. Pizza had very good flavor but the crust was inconsistent. One edge less than 1/2 inch and another almost 2 inches. Bottom under bigger edge burnt and crust was tough. My experience is when an establishment charges more for credit card use, the upcharge is donated to charities. No evidence this establishent donates the upcharge. Is set up for social distancing but no evidence of disinfecting after a customer leaves the premises. Too many pizza places with higher ratings to return.

Good food and reasonable prices. Pizza crust was really good. Friendly staff. Small pizzeria with several tables. we had 6 fit without issue. no beer or adult drinks. They were busy with in-house and takeout so wait might a bit longer at times. I would go again.

This pizza is always the best! My family and friends always want to get more! They cook it up fresh right in front of you, make it how you want it, and make sure you like it. You da man!

OMG, the best Italian place I've had on mtn. Its cozy cute not a whole lot of seating but very comfortable, food fabulous, big portions, pieces very reasonable, staff great, every one seemed to be enjoying themselves. Easy to find, right next to movie theater. They even deliver! Every one in my party totally enjoyed the food & atmosphere. My new go to place

This place is pretty legit. Their calzone is hecka good and hecka huge. Go here if you want some good food and a chill atmosphere.

Very delicious! Just would advise that they update their online hours. Called to make a pick up order at 8, cause online it said they closed at 830, girl said they were already closed.

The chicken parmesan was so delicious! Pasta tasted fresh and perfect.

Good pizza and even better customer service

Service was great and so is the food. We ordered a half and half Pizza and appreciate the wood fire oven taste . The food is made fresh so it does take a while. Also, they have no beer wine or spirits just to put it out there...

Excellent place to go eat without self or Family n great food but, Bob YOU need to deliver to Showlow area to us old people who don't have a car to come eat at ur place, alright?

Great thin Italian pizza

Food was done super fast,it tasted delicious,and I got so much,I ate it for 3 nights ( eggplant parm w/spaghetti) and salad.Since it was done fast the breaded eggplant needed a bit more frying in order to be done,the pasta was done perfectly al dente, garlic bread a bit soggy,house dressing and salad fresh and zesty!

The pizza was absolutely amazing! The crust was delicious! oh, and this is coming from somebody who doesn't normally eat the crust of their Pizza hahaha the atmosphere is very nice! it is a small, and very personal little pizza place that is definitely worth the stop!

Best Pizza! So close to the New York pizza. The Calzones are so tasty. Even their meatball sandwich is one that will melt in your mouth. So satisfied that we even ordered more food to take home.

Bland pizza and salad, no love. Lots of canned, jarred and/or bagged ingredients, as our waitress admitted. Would normally expect much more from a place with pizzeria in the name. Alas, hard to find good pizza in area. Lack of meaningful competition aka “captive audience” situation means no business has to try very hard to make a buck. That said, with R and R Pizza literally right next door, including an actual salad bar and possibly better convenience and pricing overall, Johnny’s should really consider upping their game. In the meantime, would not return.

Only pizzerias in greater NYC get 5 stars, to this Brooklyn born Italian. Good crust, they way a wood fired pizza should be.

Excellent again, 2 for 2. Staff greeted me and we're pleased to immediately take my order. Pizza had the crisp I like from a wood fired oven and no complaints. I am really surprised at some of the poor reviews I saw! But everyone is different and so is their perception, I hope Johnny Depp sticks around.

I cant believe this, We go in there WEEKLY, get pizza and feel we are good patrons. Called to order Pizza , they are out extra large, large, only have mediums, ordered 8, they refused to make my order.

Great pizza and they delivered! My family is pretty picky when it comes to pizza, most chain pizza places are unacceptable for us lol. This pizza was great, greasy but delicious.

They always have ready to go service. Food is always fresh! Pizza is delicious! Very quiet and clean and up to standards of your favorite home town pizzeria.

The food was delicious, but the portions are huge . Just my meal would of feed 3 people. Next time we go there will be three of us and we will just order 1 dinner. But we are happy.

Good food.. crust was nice and crispy. Service was attentive. Prices are the norm for the area. Dinner specials start at 5. The only drawback is the extra 3.99% charge of you use a credit card. As a visitor, you have us cornered, we don't carry cash usually and don't know of these charges until we get there. To be fair though several places we have visited are doing this.

Best calzone ever made. Fast friendly service. The calzone is huge lasts 2 to 3 meals and boy are they good. 5 stars Johnnie

I'm giving 3 stars because I heard that the pizza is great.I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and a small salad. I'm quite certain that the salad comes out of a bag. The salad dressing came out of a small plastic pouch. The spaghetti sauce tasted like nothing more than tomatoes. It was definitely lacking Italian spices. The portion size was way excessive. The meatballs were pretty good. I left the leftovers on the table. I didn't think it was worth saving.

Really great pizza. I'd love to give 5-stars, but I'm going to leave one off and credit it to management. There seems to not be a well integrated workflow which I observed while dining in. There were 4 tables, including ours, that all waited nearly 55 minutes before our pizzas were ready.

I don't eat out of the home often, and I only have pizza at most 3 time a year; but being in town for the weekend on vacation, we decided on pizza...I choose where to go and we both enjoyed it completely! when we come back we will be stopping by Johnnie D pizzeria again

Very good. The food was amazing and its a nice quiet place. I ordered lasagne and a medium gangster pizza and was not disappointed. Only thing they could do better is have the waitress be a little less shy. There were a couple times where she would ask us something and she was so quiet about it we didnt notice for a second. But other than that it is a great place! Will definitely come back next time I'm in Show-Low!

This was our first time eating at Johnnie D's. We thought the pizza was great and would rate this a. Strong 4.5 stars. Pizza was on point and the wings were meaty and hot. Would definitely suggest you try this place if you haven't yet. Atmosphere in the place was nice and is all setup for social distance.

GREAT pizza! My husband is from New York, we now love in Chandler. This is the best pizza he has tasted since he left NY! The meatballs were AMAZING so was the garlic bread and pizza...WONDERFUL! The best part, the service! The girl that waited on us today was so nice! You need to try this place when in Pinetop! SO GOOD!

Always good food, service and priced.

The food is amazing and the portions are huge!! The reason for 3 stars is the owner disconnects the phone line when they are "to busy" or within an hour or two of closing time. This prevents any take out orders from being made.

Usually pretty fast in service, unless they get slammed all at once. Awesome staff/cook. Amazing lunch specials and the food is pretty dang good. All in all one of my favorite places up here

New York style food. Huge portions of great food. We had the pizza, meatball sandwich and calzone, they were all great.

Yummy pizza! Orded a pepperoni/jalapeno pizza. The pizza was cooked perfectly! Great meal after our hike on a cloudy/rainy day.

Been here several times and had pizza delivered! Great food, HUGE portions! The waitress was on top of it and while they were slammed so the food took a bit but well worth the wait! We will be back many times! Perfect place for a family dinner!
